Student Time Commitment
Each week of summer school is the equivalent of one month in a
semestered high school. These high school courses are compressed into a
very short time period. Students must be prepared to spend several hours
per day on course work beyond school time for all academic courses and
most option courses.
Summer School prerequisites
Alberta Education regulations regarding prerequisite courses apply to
summer school. These regulations specify that a student must have a pass
standing (50% or higher) in the prerequisite course in order to continue
with the series. If you register for a course without prerequisite
standing, you will be withdrawn from the course without a refund of fees
Student Conduct
Inappropriate behavior (such as disrespect towards staff or other
students, disruptiveness, damage to school property, uncooperativeness,
etc.) will result in the immediate dismissal of the student. Refunds
will NOT be issued.
International Students
International students in Canada on a valid Student
Visa/Authorization are eligible to attend the summer school credit
program. You must apply in person (an appointment is necessary) and
bring your current visa, passport, and school records for review to
determine eligibility for admission. International students must call
(780) 944-2000 to register.
